Privacy Policy
Updated: August 2026
This page explains what SarkariReady collects, why, how long we keep it, and your rights — under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
We don't run tracking analytics
We do not run any third-party tracking cookie or analytics script that follows you across sites.
Essential local storage (stays on your own device)
- "Saved" jobs (when signed out): if you're not logged in, jobs you save are stored only in your own browser's localStorage — never sent to our servers. Once you log in, saved jobs are attached to your account (see below) so they follow you across devices.
- Remembering dark/light mode, and your "Got it" on the cookie notice — both purely for your convenience.
- Share code (
sr_ref): created only when you go to Share & Earn Points and take your own link. It holds a 6-character code and nothing else — no name, number or identity. Its only job is to credit you for the people who arrive from links you send. - Counting arrivals from your link: when someone opens the site from your link we do not store their IP — only a one-way (irreversible) hash, so the same person is not counted twice. That hash cannot be turned back into a person.
When you subscribe for job alerts
Your email/mobile and optional preferences (qualification, state, sector) are used only to send the alerts you asked for. We never sell your data. Ticking "Send me new-recruitment alerts" on the last step of the registration wizard adds you to this same alert list — not a second, separate system.
Account and eligibility profile (new — registration wizard)
When you create an account with email + password, we store your email and a securely hashed password (we never see or save your actual password, never in plain text). Giving your name is optional. Your mobile number is required — we use it for essential account-related notices, and for the SMS/WhatsApp alert service we're rolling out soon (not live yet).
During registration we ask for your date of birth. This is required: most government recruitments have a minimum age of 18, and we need to check that every account belongs to someone 18 or above. If the date of birth you give works out to under 18, the account is not created (see "Under 18" below).
We then ask for your education and state (to show age-limit and state-quota recruitments) and your category (fully optional — see the dedicated paragraph below). All of this is saved permanently to your profile only if, on the last step, you personally tick "Use my profile to check eligibility." That box always starts unticked — we never pre-check it for you. If you don't tick it, your account still works fully; we just won't be able to show you personally-matched recruitments.
Gender, disability (PwBD) and ex-servicemen answers are, for now, used only within that one registration session — they are not saved permanently to our database. The day we start saving them permanently, we will update this page first.
Your category (General/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) — extra care
Telling us your category is entirely your choice, and skipping it does not affect any part of your account. We use it only to correctly apply age relaxation and reservation. Your category:
- is never shown publicly to other users or to search engines
- is never used for advertising or ad-targeting — there are no ads on the site today, and this stays true if that changes
- is never sold or shared with any third party
Push notifications
If our push-notification service is enabled, it only starts after you tap "Enable" yourself — never automatically on page load.
External resources
We load fonts from Google Fonts to display Hindi and English text well. If we show ads in future, ad networks may use their own cookies (but your category/disability/ex-servicemen information will never be shared with them) — we never run popunders or intrusive ads.
How long we keep your data
Your account and profile stay with us for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your entire account any time from "My Account" (see below) — your access to the account is removed immediately on request, and we completely erase all your data, including backups, within 30 days.
Under 18
This service is intended for users aged 18 and above (most government jobs require a minimum age of 18). When you create an account, we check this against the date of birth you provide — if it works out to under 18, the account is not created. This check relies on the date you self-declare; we do not verify a government ID. We do not knowingly collect data from a child under 18 without parental consent.
Your rights (under the DPDP Act, 2023)
- Access: Go to My Account and click "Download my data" to get a file with your profile, consent record and saved jobs.
- Correction: Change your name and language yourself in My Account. To correct your date of birth, education, state or category, email us at [email protected] — there's no direct "edit" button for these yet; we fix them manually on request.
- Erasure: Use "Delete my account" in My Account to request deletion — your access is removed immediately (covering name, email/mobile, password, every saved job, and, if you completed the eligibility check, date of birth, education, state and category too), and we completely erase all your data, including backups, within 30 days. This cannot be undone.
- Withdraw consent: Unsubscribe from alerts any time (every email has a link), or remove your "Use my profile to check eligibility" consent any time from My Account — as easily as you gave it.
- Complaint: Write to us first at [email protected] — we try to respond as quickly as we can. If you're not satisfied, you have the right under law to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Note: Our Grievance Officer is Rahul Kumar. You can reach him at [email protected] — we aim to respond within 7 days.
