• A syllabus and an exam pattern are two different documents. The pattern tells you how many papers, how many marks, how long, and whether wrong answers cost you. The syllabus tells you what to read. You plan from the pattern and study from the syllabus.
• Order your work by marks, not by preference. The paper carrying the most marks deserves the most time, even when it is the subject you like least.
• The longest entry is the biggest hint. The topic a commission writes out in the most detail is usually the one it examines most thoroughly. Detail in a syllabus is rarely an accident.
• What the syllabus does not say, nobody knows. Cut-offs, the exact negative-marking value, the question count — these are often simply absent from the document. A site that states them confidently is guessing. Our pages name them as not given instead.
• Open that year's official PDF before you apply. Syllabuses change between years, and the final authority is always the commission's own document — every page here links it.
