BPSC TRE 4.0 Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2026 — Prelims + Mains, 1/3 Negative Marking (32,388 Posts)
BPSC has advertised TRE 4.0 — 32,388 school-teacher posts (Advt No. 14/2026, 18 August 2026) — and for the first time the selection runs in TWO stages: a Preliminary exam with 1/3 negative marking, then a Main exam for which prelims-qualified candidates apply separately.

The one change every TRE veteran must see first
If you wrote TRE 1.0–3.0, the rules have changed under you: TRE 4.0 introduces a Preliminary competitive exam before the Main, and the prelims carries negative marking of one-third of a mark per wrong answer. Blind guessing — which cost nothing in earlier TREs — now costs marks.
The advertisement also gives every question five options (A to E) on the answer sheet, and successful prelims candidates must submit a separate application for the Main exam. Mismatched information between the two applications can disqualify you from the Main.

What this page deliberately does not state
The level-wise split of the 32,388 posts and the application dates appear in the advertisement's tables, but our scanned copy did not reproduce those digits reliably — so this page does not repeat them. Open the official advertisement linked below for the level-wise vacancy tables, and confirm the application window on bpsc.bihar.gov.in before you apply. Each class-group needs its own ₹100 fee if you apply to more than one.
