Bihar's biggest live recruitment — the window opens 1 September
The Bihar Public Service Commission has published Advertisement No. 14/2026 for the fourth Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE 4.0): 32,388 school-teacher posts under Bihar's Education Department, spread over four levels — primary (class 1–5), middle (6–8), secondary (9–10, including special schools) and higher secondary (11–12).
The advertisement spells the total out in words — बत्तीस हजार तीन सौ अठासी — so the number is not a typo: this is currently Bihar's biggest open government recruitment.
The date hiding in the fine print
Every certificate you claim (qualification, TET, category) must have been ISSUED on or before 30 September 2026 — the application last date. A certificate issued later is invalid for this recruitment, even if the window were extended.
The exam fee is ₹100 per class-group — the advertisement spells it out as एक सौ रूपये. Apply to more than one class-group (say 1–5 and 9–10) and each application carries its own ₹100, and the fee is not refunded.
Selection — TRE's rules have changed
For the first time in TRE, selection runs in TWO stages: a Preliminary exam of 150 marks (2 hours, five options A–E per question) with negative marking of one-third mark per wrong answer, followed by a Main exam (language 30 + general studies 40 + your subject 80 = 150 marks) for which prelims-qualified candidates apply separately. Guessing, free in earlier TREs, now costs marks.
The full paper-wise structure, negative-marking rules and what changed from TRE 1.0–3.0 are on our TRE 4.0 syllabus & exam-pattern page — it is built from this same advertisement.
How to apply on onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in
The advertisement's own application steps, in order:
- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in if you have never registered; 69th/70th CCE applicants reuse their existing username and password.
- Log in to the dashboard, pick the TRE 4.0 application for your class-group, and fill it — CTET-qualified candidates (class 1–5, 6–8) enter the Serial No. and issue date from their certificate; STET-qualified candidates enter their BSEB Unique ID No. and the result-publication date.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and keep your mobile Aadhaar-linked — the advertisement asks for it, and an OTP failure at document verification can cost you your candidature.
- Pay the ₹100 fee online by 29 September; the form itself closes 30 September at the portal.
- Check every entry before final submission — the advertisement warns that mismatches between your form and your certificates are caught at document verification, and pay only after you are sure of your age and eligibility (the fee is not refunded).
What this page deliberately does not state
The level-wise and subject-wise split of the 32,388 posts, the class 9–10 pay figure and the exact age cut-off dates are printed in the advertisement's tables, but our scanned copy did not reproduce those Devanagari digits reliably — so this page does not repeat them. Open the official advertisement PDF below for the level-wise tables, and confirm your own eligibility there before paying the fee.
