2. Defence · 6th Positive Indigenisation List: 405 items
The Department of Defence Production notified the 6th Positive Indigenisation List — 405 strategically important items with an estimated import-substitution value of ₹3,070 crore: 16 items of the Indian Coast Guard and 389 of the defence PSUs, covering platforms like the ALH, LCA, Su-30MKI and the AL-31FP engine. 3. Science & Tech · SEMICON India 2026 on 17–19 September

Under the India Semiconductor Mission, 12 projects stand approved under Semicon 1.0 and the Cabinet has approved Semicon 2.0.

5. Economy · FASTag-based local pass at 121 toll plazas
NHAI rolled out the online FASTag local-pass facility at 121 toll plazas: residents within 20 km of a plaza can book a monthly pass on the Rajmargyatra app for unlimited crossings of that plaza. The first digital local pass began in July 2026 at the Mundka-Bakkarwala plaza on Delhi's UER-II.

6. Defence · NCC all-girls trek 'Aparajita — Parang La 2026'
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off the NCC's all-India girls' high-altitude trek across the Parang La pass (5,578 m), which links Himachal's Spiti valley with Ladakh's Changthang region — 28 cadets, led by three women officers of the three services, covering about 250 km in 30 days.
