FAQ — Your Questions, Answered

Is the GPSC CBRT syllabus the same for all posts?

No. Core subject marks (25–30) are post-specific — for example, Mamlatdar's core section covers Goa land-revenue laws, while other posts will have their own core subjects. English, GK, and Reasoning sections are common in structure but marks differ for Teaching vs Non-Teaching posts.

What is the passing percentage for GPSC CBRT?

Under the new scheme (from 1 November 2025): General/EWS/Ex-Servicemen need 50% (30/60), OBC/PwD/CFF need 45% (27/60), and SC/ST need 40% (24/60). Source: GPSC notice dated 15 July 2025.

Is there an interview after the GPSC CBRT?

Yes. Candidates are shortlisted for document verification and oral interview at a ratio of 1 post : 5 candidates, based on CBRT merit and reservation policy.

How long is the GPSC CBRT exam?

Under the new scheme (effective 1 November 2025), the CBRT is 75 minutes for 60 marks. (Earlier it was 90 minutes for 75 marks.)

Where can I find the latest GPSC syllabus PDF for my post?

On the official GPSC Syllabus page (gpsc.goa.gov.in/syllabus/) or the Advertisements page — always match the syllabus PDF to your post name and advertisement number.
