Age is counted on 1 November 2026, the closing date, from the date of birth in your Matriculation or Higher Secondary certificate; no later change is accepted. Departmental candidates with at least 3 years' continuous Central Government service on the closing date may apply up to 40 years (UR, EWS, OBC, OBC (NCL)) or 45 years (SC, ST). To claim a relaxation you must bring the certificate in the advertisement's annexure format; the OBC non-creamy-layer certificate must have been issued within three years before 1 November 2026, and the EWS certificate must be the one valid for 2025-2026.

Eligibility

Open to men and women who are Indian citizens, including subjects of Nepal and Bhutan, with Matriculation (10th) or equivalent from a recognised board, aged 18 to 23 on 1 November 2026. You must have competed in, or won a medal at, a recognised competition between 1 January 2024 and 1 November 2026: an international event cleared by the Sports Ministry (taking part is enough), or a medal or a place up to 3rd at a Senior or Junior National Championship or the National Games while representing a state or UT, at an Inter-University competition or the Khelo India University Games while representing a university, or at the Khelo India Youth Games (above-18 category) or Khelo India Winter Games. Below international level, taking part without a top-3 finish does not count. Upload the certificate of your best result in your profile before you apply. Minimum height 170 cm for men and 157 cm for women, relaxed to 165/155 cm for Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates from Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh; 162.5/152.5 cm for Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura; 162.5/150 cm for all Scheduled Tribes, 157/147.5 cm for Scheduled Tribes of the North-East, 160/147.5 cm for Scheduled Tribes of Left-Wing-Extremism-affected districts, and 157/152.5 cm for the Gorkha Territorial Administration area of Darjeeling district. Men need a chest of 80 cm unexpanded with 5 cm expansion (76 cm for Scheduled Tribes, 78 cm for the Garhwali and Assam/Himachal/J&K/Ladakh group, 77 cm for the North-East states and GTA). Distant vision 6/6 and 6/9 without glasses or lenses; colour blindness, knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins or a squint disqualify. Tattoos only on the inner left forearm or the back of the hand, smaller than a quarter of that part. These posts are not open to persons with disabilities or to ex-servicemen, and a candidate involved in a criminal case is not considered. You must serve at least 10 years; resigning earlier means refunding three months' pay and allowances or the cost of training, whichever is higher.

Pay Scale

Level 3 in the Pay Matrix, ₹21,700 – 69,100 a month (7th CPC). The post also carries dearness allowance, ration money, washing allowance, special compensatory allowance while posted in specified border areas, free uniform, free accommodation or HRA, transport allowance, free leave pass and free medical facilities. Pension is under the contributory scheme that applies to Central Government entrants since 1 January 2004.

Selection Process

  1. Scrutiny of your online form and uploaded sports certificate; if it is in order you get an online admit card for the recruitment.
  2. Documentation, after a biometric identity check: originals of age, education, caste, domicile and sports certificates, the relaxation certificates in the annexure formats, a no-objection certificate if you are a government employee, and four passport photographs. Your sports record must earn at least 10 marks on the advertisement's medal table; otherwise you are out here.
  3. Physical Standard Test (PST): height, chest (men) and weight are measured. Being under- or over-weight does not reject you here; the medical officer decides it at the medical.
  4. Sports Trial Test of 40 marks in your own event, qualifying only: you need at least 20. The marks do not count in the merit list, there is no appeal, and members of an Indian squad at an international event cleared by the Sports Ministry are exempt.
  5. Merit list in each discipline on the marks of your single best result in the medal table — from 100 for Olympic gold down to 10 for a Khelo India Youth Games bronze. Ties go to the better national result, then to the younger candidate, then alphabetically by name in English.
  6. Detailed Medical Examination of those selected on merit, under the MHA's 2015 uniform CAPF guidelines. A candidate declared unfit may sign the consent within 24 hours for a Review Medical Examination, usually the next day; its decision is final.

How to Apply

  1. Apply online only, from 00:01 on 3 October to 11:59 pm on 1 November 2026, on https://recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in — an application sent any other way is rejected.
  2. Register with a working e-mail address and mobile number; every admit card is issued online on the same website.
  3. In your profile, upload the certificate of your best medal, position or participation between 1 January 2024 and 1 November 2026 in your advertised event BEFORE you open the application — without it the application is rejected at scrutiny.
  4. Fill the Constable (GD) Sports Quota application; male UR, OBC and EWS candidates pay ₹100 online on the same website, while women and SC and ST candidates pay nothing.
  5. Print the submitted form and keep spare copies of the same passport photograph: you will not be let into the venue without the printout. For queries the helpline is 011-24369482 or 24369483.
