Three contract engagements, paid by the visit
Every figure on this page is read from the University's own advertisement, RGNAU/5132/03/ADMIN/517 dated 3 September 2026, which is linked at the bottom. Where the advertisement does not say something — an application fee, for instance — this page says so instead of filling it in.
These are not salaried university posts. Each engagement is one visit a week of two hours, paid a consolidated amount for that visit, with nothing on top: the advertisement rules out DA, HRA, provident fund, pension, insurance, gratuity, seniority, promotion, LTC, medical claim and education allowance, and travel expenses are not admissible either. Income tax is deducted at source, and the amount does not change during the term of the contract.
The engagement runs for one year to begin with, is extended year by year only after the University assesses the work, and cannot exceed three years in total. It gives no right of absorption into any permanent post and no seniority in any grade of the University.
| Post | Vacancies | Paid per two-hour visit | Upper age preferred, as on the last date |

| Visiting Medical Consultant (Paediatrician) | 1 | ₹12,000 | below 60 years |
| Visiting Health Inspector | 1 | ₹3,000 | below 50 years |

Age Limit
| Maximum Age | 60 Years |
| Age as on | 06 Nov 2026 |
The upper age is a preference, not a bar, and it differs by post — counted as on the last date of application: preferably below 60 years for the two Visiting Medical Consultant posts, and preferably below 50 years for the Visiting Health Inspector. The candidate must be in good health to discharge the duties. The University may relax qualifications, experience or age in exceptionally deserving cases. No minimum age is stated.

Pay Scale
Paid per visit, not per month. A Visiting Medical Consultant is paid a consolidated ₹12,000 for each visit of two hours; the Visiting Health Inspector is paid ₹3,000 for each visit of two hours. The duty is one visit a week. No other allowance is payable, travel included, and the notice rules out DA, HRA, PF, pension, insurance, gratuity, seniority, promotion, LTC, medical claim and education allowance. Income tax is deducted at source, and the amount does not change during the contract.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting — the Selection Committee decides its own method, and meeting the minimum qualification does not by itself earn a call. RGNAU may shortlist if applicants are many, and gives no reason for rejection.
- Interview — you must attend in person on the date and time given; no request to change the schedule is entertained. Carry your original certificates of age, qualification, experience and category.
- Engagement by the Vice Chancellor on the Selection Committee's recommendation — one year on contract to start with, extendable year by year after an assessment, and not beyond three years in total.
How to Apply
- Apply online on the University's portal at https://rgnaunt.samarth.edu.in/ before the last date, following the instructions given there. Only the online application counts.
- Print the submitted online application form and keep it.
- Keep copies of your certificates — educational qualification, experience, testimonials and the other documents supporting your eligibility — with that printout. They are to be produced at the interview if you are shortlisted.
- Watch www.rgnau.ac.in for any corrigendum and for the interview dates.
- For a query, write to [email protected] naming the position you applied for.
What the Health Inspector is actually being hired to do
The advertisement spells this post's duties out in detail, which is worth reading before applying: it is an inspection job with reporting deadlines attached, not an advisory one. Inspections are to be conducted at least twice a month across hostel messes, wet canteens, commercial kiosks, kitchens, residential quarters, academic blocks and the campus perimeter, along with drinking-water filtration systems, overhead and underground tanks, drainage lines, waste collection hubs and sanitary facilities.
Food audits follow FSSAI guidelines and cover raw grocery freshness, expiry dates, cold-chain integrity, cooking-oil reuse limits and dishwashing practice; hygiene standards, routine medical fitness screening and protective gear are to be enforced on mess and canteen staff. Pest control runs on scheduled Integrated Pest Management protocols against mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches and rodents, including anti-stagnation measures and larvicidal treatment of drains.
Each inspection has to produce a detailed report with a time-bound corrective action plan, submitted to the University Administration within 48 hours. The post-holder also runs a point-based Hygiene Rating Scorecard for food contractors and recommends penalties or contract review where non-compliance persists, and conducts training workshops for mess workers and contractors.
What each post requires, and where the work is
Both consultant posts ask for a postgraduate medical qualification in the relevant speciality with a valid medical council registration, from an institute, hospital or organisation recognised by the Government and affiliated to the Medical Council of India or a State Medical Council. For the Health Inspector the advertisement also names desirable knowledge: FSSAI guidelines, Integrated Pest Management protocols and drinking-water quality testing parameters.
The work is at the University campus at Fursatganj, district Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. RGNAU is a Central University established by the Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University Act, 2013, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The advertisement does not mention any application fee. It reserves the right to fill or not fill any post, to increase or decrease the number of vacancies, and to withdraw the advertisement in part or whole without giving a reason. Qualification, experience and age are all reckoned as on the closing date.
